HaHa Cafe (Part 1) -Henry Hill Narrative

“Hey, Joseph you’ve won four free tickets to the 8:30 show on Saturday. Congratulations.”

The tickets, I remember losing my head over those tickets. Yeah they’re only 15 bucks a pop but where I come from a prize is a prize. I tell Ricky and Lauren but they’re busy doing favors for this guy and that guy. Only person I could ever find with as much of nothing to do as I did was Brandon. Brandon’s the type of guy who sticks up for his friends, even if it means getting pummeled to the ground by four Armenians outside a club. I show up at Brandon’s at six figuring we’d have time to get a burger on the way. He pulls out a brownie and some trail mix. He pushes his eyebrows up and I get it.

“It’s going to be that type of night huh?” I take a bite out of the brownie. I see him eat six pieces from the trail mix. We thought about the consequences, we just didn’t care about them. We were bigger than that, and bigger than anybody who’d try to tell us otherwise.
